Meet Board Bootcamp Campers
At The Eight Effect, we don’t just teach about board service, we prepare you to step into it.
Through Board Bootcamp, participants gain the clarity, confidence, and connections needed to serve effectively in governance roles. Our approach is practical, supportive, and rooted in real-world experience, ensuring that you leave not just informed, but ready.
Our graduates have gone on to serve on nonprofit boards, municipal commissions, and in leadership roles, bringing their voices, perspectives, and expertise into spaces where decisions are made.
We believe leadership should be accessible, supported, and impactful. Board Bootcamp is designed to help you take your seat at the table and be prepared to serve.
Every year, hundreds of Evanston residents volunteer their time and expertise through board service.
Unfortunately, nonprofit boards do not reflect the diversity of our community. Our boards should include those historically absent from the table because we deserve the innovation that comes from inclusivity. Organizations where individuals feel heard, valued, and respected have higher engagement, retention, and enhanced revenue streams.
Board Bootcamp is designed to prepare historically underrepresented individuals for board service. Through interactive and hands-on experiences, participants will gain critical insight into their own knowledge, skills and abilities and learn how to leverage their talents to serve our community.
