I am a creator and teacher whose passion is leveraging my knowledge, skills, and abilities to help create the kind of community I’ve always envisioned. I love alignment and I love the number eight.

For me, eight represents the connection between vision and action, the spiritual and the practical, the why and the what. I am the best version of myself when those things are working together, when what I do reflects what I believe and moves me closer to what I imagine is possible.

My perspective has been shaped by nearly two decades as a business professor and higher education leader, years of nonprofit and public board service, and a lifetime of community involvement. I have experienced leadership from a lot of different seats, as a teacher, administrator, board member and board president, entrepreneur, volunteer, mentor, and community member. Each of those roles has taught me something about what happens when people, purpose, and systems work together...and what happens when they don't.

That idea is at the heart of The Eight Effect.

I started The Eight Effect to create spaces, experiences, and opportunities that help people and communities move from vision to action. The work may take different forms, leadership development, governance, storytelling, technology, community-building, or something we haven’t imagined yet, but the foundation remains the same: meaningful change happens when our actions are aligned with our vision.

That is The Eight Effect.
